I have to live with his mother who I don't get on at all. Its destroying our relationship. He doesnt accept living without his mum.

  This is a tricky one because of all the parties involved. Have you tried talking to the mother. And I don't mean exhanging snarky comments and subtly reinforcing who knows the guy better. But actually sitting her down and asking her what the problem is. Literally - Why don't you like me? It sounds blunt but it may just get through and shock her into a response. If she says she doesn't. Don't get annoyed - ask her why and then very firmly suggest that you aren't going anywhere for a while and she needs to accept it and stop making life difficult. Aim for civility at least - and without getting Him involved will make him have a bit more faith in you - because his mum can't complain - what would she say 'SHe came to TALK to me' lol Good luck with this! Parents are always tricky territory.
