What is ‘Talk it Out’ all about?
Content on thecoupleconnection.net is organised around the common relationship issues that couples are most likely to struggle with. ‘Talk it Out’ is a dedicated discussion forum to help couples discuss and understand their relationship issues.
The Talk it Out forum is ‘self-moderated’ by members of thecoupleconnection.net community, as members support each other working through their relationship issues.
Who are the “Talk it Out” Team?
We are a group of experienced relationship counsellors who have been trained to work with couples.
What is your role?
We monitor the ‘Talk it Out’ relationship forum.
We review all new posts to ensure they comply with the Terms and Conditions of the Forum.
In general, it is the members of the coupleconnection.net who support each other working through their relationship issues. Members do this by commenting on posts.
We may make a comment on a post to offer an insight into the situation. We may also suggest ideas about what might work based on research evidence, referring to helpful resources and exercises elsewhere on the site. We may also refer users to other external agencies as appropriate.
How many of you are there?
There are currently ten of us: Tony, James, Jenny, Morwenna, Sinead, Mary, Esme, Christine, Charlie and Lucy.
Previous members of our team include: Chris, Molly, Rachel, Phil and Angela.
Where are you based?
We work individually and remotely so that we can monitor the site throughout the day.
When are you on the site?
We work on a rota, so that the forum is monitored every day. thecoupleconnection.net is also monitored by the site administrators.
Have you ‘planted’ any of the posts?
None of us would 'plant' a new post and we would discourage anyone else from doing so. If we have an issue to raise which we think would be of interest to the community, then the post would show that it is from the Talk it Out Team.
Can people contact you directly with their relationship issues?
All our responses are through the Talk it Out forum, visible as comments on posts. We do not respond to every post.
Who runs this site?
This site has been created by One Plus One, the UK's leading relationships research organisation. One Plus One investigates what makes relationships work – or fall apart – and makes the findings accessible to everyone interested in strengthening and supporting couple and family relationships.
